Sorry, a brief follow-up to this message. Again, if you don't work in plate tectonics you may hit delete now.
Thanks, Paul

I would just like to alert potential users to the availability of a new plate tectonic resource called "Community infrastructure and repository for marine magnetic identifications". See http://dx.doi.org/10.1002/2013GC005176 for background and http://www.soest.hawaii.edu/PT/GSFML for free access to these and related data, available in GMT and GIS formats.
Note that the initial data set available is just a "global starter package" and does not contain all published magnetic picks (we simply intended just to get the infrastructure started so we could begin spreading the word via the publication - there is no censoring; all picks published in the literature are welcome). If you have published plate tectonic reconstructions, have digital files with magnetic picks (and optionally Hellinger input files) and are willing to share your picks on the site, please click on the GSFML Participation Instructions link http://www.soest.hawaii.edu/PT/GSFML/contribute.html and see how to do it. The value of this community resource depends on the willing participation of all plate tectonic researchers; please consider doing so.Thanks, Paul
